Saturday’s Women’s March reached around the world

Posted on Jan 23, 2017 by in Uncategorized |

Saturday’s Women’s March on Washington reached far beyond DC and even the U.S., with at least 600 marches taking place in at least 60 countries around the world, according to one British web site.

Australia, Japan, Iceland, Chile, Switzerland, Norway and even Antarctica hosted marches. Neighboring Canada hosted more than 30 marches, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, “Congratulations to the women and men across Canada who came out yesterday to support women’s rights. You keep your government inspired.”

In Fairbanks, Alaska, the windchill reached -41, and in Unalakleet, Alaska, temperatures hit -13. Probably the northernmost march was in Barrow, Alaska, where 38 people attended. That’s committment.

Thank you for all your efforts from one who feels guilty for not marching and supporting all of you.
